Doctor
Dr. Peter W. King was born in Portland, Maine. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with an animal science major and biochemical minor from the University of New Hampshire. Dr. King was admitted to Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with his DVM degree in 1978. For the next few years he practiced small animal medicine in Middletown, NY, and dairy medicine in Lowville, NY before settling in Mattydale Animal Hospital. After a short time he bought the practice and ran it along with 3 to 4 associates for the next 20 years. At this point, Dr. King wanted a more personal, slower paced country practice.
After looking around he built a house in Parish and designed and built Mexico Veterinary Hospital on Cornell Road in Mexico. This gave him the opportunity to custom design a hospital specifically for his interests and the requirements of his future clients and patients. After so many years of experience, he had a clear idea of what to have in the hospital and what to avoid for doctors, staff, clients and patients. Dr. King has 4 children and 6 grandchildren. His interests include nature studies, kayaking, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and woodworking.
